Pilates and ADHD
For those of us with ADHD, our brains are wired to crave excitement, focus and variety. Pilates is becoming a go-to for neurodivergent brains because it offers so much more than just physical benefits. It’s about finding clarity, precision, control, calmness, focus and confidence in our own mind and body.
The Apparatus machines in Pilates give immediate benefits to the brain because it requires all of the above listed benefits. The shift in that mindset prioritizes what is necessary, and when that happens consistent habits start forming and staying! It’s been proven that sticking to a consistent practice accomplishes many things: concentration improves, mind-body connection improves, stress is reduced, posture improves as well as strength, flexibility and body awareness.
We tell our new students that Pilates is the BEST personal investment you can do for yourself. Aging requires diligence in self care. This method is a very kind way to stay fit and have fun doing it. It’s a well known fact that exercise produces endorphins. This is natures happy drug. It is produced naturally during sustained exercise; So during and after a Pilates workout those endorphins stay with you long after leaving the Studio! Seeing our students smiles and added bounce in their step as they leave makes doing what we do as instructors possible.
Be the change you want to see!
As we wrap up March 2026 we look to April, I’ll remind you on Thursday April 2, 2026 is a full moon known as a “pink moon”. It’s a time of renewal and fresh intentions. Our Challenge this month is 1500 squats! (roughly 50 a day) An article written by Confluent Health states leg strength is one of the most important predictors of long term health and independence. The strength of your lower body plays a central role in everything from walking and balance to metabolic function and injury recovery. Join in our squats challenge will not only strengthen your muscles but could also be a lucky winner of our $100 gift card!
My new favorite go to lunch:
Healthy Veggie Wraps- Spinach & Herb (ole brand) tortilla wraps, 2 Tbsp (boar’s head) everything bagel hummus, 1/4c spring mix salad greens, 1/4c red bell pepper- sliced, 1/4c shredded carrots, 1/4c sliced cucumber. Enjoy and let me know what you think 🙂
Thank you for choosing us for your fitness journey and if you know anyone that can benefit from Pilates please refer them to us! We have a client appreciation program- if you bring us a new client that books a package of group classes, you will get a free class!
