LCPP April 2026 Blog

Group class on the studio floor
What a productive week! The Studio has started the Squats Challenge for April. **Remember to get your raffle tickets at the Studio each time you are in to get entered into the drawing at the end of the month.
This past weekend we had an instructor workshop on the new Pilates Arc’s. What a fun and new tool we have available to workout with now! It is a lightweight version of Joseph Pilates “original barrels”. To give a little background, Joseph Pilates designed the Ladder Barrel and other barrel apparatuses (like the spine corrector) to improve spinal mobility, flexibility and core strength. Inspired by his philosophy that “you’re only as young as your spine is flexible.” He created these tools for rehabilitation and posture correction.
Legend holds that the original curved “barrel” shapes were crafted from beer kegs. The apparatus (developed later around the 1950’s) combines a curved barrel with a wooden ladder, allowing for challenging, upright and supportive exercises. Which are used to stretch and strengthen the spine. Joe was known as an inventor and I love that we are carrying on the work that this man started long ago!

Other Highlights this week:

After a wonderful Easter with close friends, I have felt called to host a Pilates & Prayer Event. For many, many years some of my close confidants know this desire has been placed in my heart. Timing never worked out, but it has now moved to the top of my priority list and feel called to lead this endeavor. I have a heart to share my love for God and what he wants to accomplish here on this side of Heaven. Faith Matters !!
May 2, 2026 is International Pilates Day and in honor and remembrance to this date a Pilates and Prayer Event is scheduled. I have often said to myself (during & after a great session) Thank God for Joe! Well… I’m paying it forward. Please join us! This is a mat based, scripture inspired session meant to connect back to Faith. The word Selah (SEE LUH) appears 74 times in the Bible. 71 in the book of Psalms and 3 in Habakkuk. Many scholars believe the word Selah indicates a pause for reflection, or moment of meaning. To reflect and take a beat if you will. The psalms themselves are both prayers and songs. This Event will honor that sacred reflection to teach us and shape our understanding while still moving our bodies.
I invite you to join us! There are only 8 spots and sign up is on Calendly. This is a free class, but we are asking for donations to my friend Catherine Durst’s Blood Cancer United Fundraiser. She has been nominated to be visionary of the year and we support her campaign. Whatever you feel moved to donate would be greatly appreciated.
In Health,
Joyce Ganzermiller and LCPP Team
