PILATES

Pilates was developed in the 1920s and is named after the creator, Joseph H. Pilates. As a young man, he designed a variety of contraptions using old hospital beds and springs in a successful effort to overcome his own disabilities. Inspired by his rehabilitation, as well as his interests in gymnastics, diving, body building and self-defense, Joseph Pilates designed fitness equipment that uses springs for resistance and developed hundreds of exercises to challenge a person at almost any fitness level. The method quickly became popular with many people, ranging from those who are mostly sedentary to those who excel in athletics.
At Lowcountry Power PIlates, we strive to give you a personal and comfortable experience while practicing these classical methods of body conditioning. We welcome all ages and fitness levels and ensure the highest quality of service. Escape to our studio to achieve the balance of mind, body and spirit.
Pilates Apparatus
Includes Reformer, Tower, Wunda Chair, Ladder Barrel, and Cadillac sessions. Rates and packages vary with each service. All sessions are offered at the Owner’s boutique studio located inside the Park West Subdivision in Mt. Pleasant, SC.
Private Sessions
A 50-minute, one instructor, Pilates workout using Pilates apparatus – i.e. Reformer class – as well as incorporating Pilates mat work and exercises. An excellent way to become acquainted with the Pilates system. The one-on-one attention allows the instructor to properly assess your body and develop a program that targets your individual needs. No previous experience necessary.
Semi-Private Sessions
A 50-minute, one instructor, up to four clients Pilates workout using Pilates apparatus as well as incorporating mat work. Upon creating an understanding of the Pilates program, the semi-private classes offer an opportunity for the client to work at their individual level yet share an instructor’s guidance. Prerequisite: 3 Private sessions
