Moving Together for a Cause: Team Lowcountry Power Pilates at the Alzheimer’s Walk

We Are Walking on October 25th, and Here Is Why
At Lowcountry Power Pilates, our tagline is Achieve the Balance, Mind, Body, and Spirit. Most of the time we talk about that balance in the context of a reformer class or a private session. But balance also means showing up for the people and causes that matter to our community, and the Alzheimer’s Walk on October 25th is one of those moments.
Team Lowcountry Power Pilates will be out there together, moving with purpose alongside so many others who have been touched by this disease. If you have ever had a parent, grandparent, spouse, or dear friend affected by Alzheimer’s, you already know why this walk feels personal. We are walking because movement is something we believe in with our whole hearts, and on October 25th we get to use it as an act of love.
Keep an eye out for our team photo from the library. We will be sharing it here and on our social pages, and we are so proud to represent this studio and this community in that way.
Why Movement and Community Go Hand in Hand
One of the things I love most about running this studio is watching what happens when people move together. You come in for a Group Reformer Class or a Mat and Tower session, and somewhere between the footwork and the stretching, you start talking to the person on the next reformer. You learn their name. You cheer each other on. A community forms, almost without anyone planning it.
That same spirit is exactly what carries a team through a walk like October 25th. The intention is different, but the energy is the same. Bodies in motion, side by side, doing something meaningful together. This is what we mean when we talk about Mind, Body, and Spirit as a whole. It is not just about the physical results you see in the mirror. It is about being part of something that lifts everyone up.
If you have been coming to this studio for a while, you already know this feeling. If you are newer, just trust me, it grows on you in the best possible way.
How Consistent Movement Builds the Capacity to Show Up
Here is something I think about often. The work you do on the reformer, on the mat, in a private session with one of our instructors, it is not just for today. It is an investment in your future self. The strength, the coordination, the body awareness you build here gives you the physical and mental capacity to keep showing up for the things that matter most in your life.
Walking a meaningful distance on a fall morning requires a body that feels capable and a mind that feels willing. Every session you complete at the studio is quietly contributing to both of those things. Our instructors, Catherine, Emily, Jill, Joanelle, Joyce, Kelly, and Wendy, design every class with your whole wellbeing in mind. That kind of intentional movement adds up over time in ways that go far beyond what the scale or a timer can measure.
So whether you are joining Team Lowcountry Power Pilates on October 25th or cheering us on from home, know that the work you do here matters. It matters for your body, for your spirit, and for your ability to be present for the people and causes you love.
Thank you, as always, for being the heart of this studio. Walking together on October 25th is going to be a beautiful reminder of just how much this community means. We hope to see your smiling faces out there.
