Several years ago I ran across (what was then) a new type of workout called barre fitness. And, as many Pilates instructors did, I hit the nearest studio to find out about the craze. Three years, certifications, and hundreds of hours teaching and training later, my enthusiasm for barre remains.

Here’s what I love about barre classes:

  • It’s a great compliment to Pilates as it incorporates a lot of the same anatomy and core moves.
  • Almost anyone can take a barre class. It’s fun with great energy, music and flow. And, no, you don’t have to be a former ballet dancer to enjoy this workout.
  • Because we devote sections to arms, abs, legs and buns the class continuously moves and changes so clients keep their heart rate up while minimizing impact.
  • Walk away from barre with great posture, sculpted arms and tones legs and thighs. Isn’t that why we workout anyway?

Private and Semi-Private training sessions available.

Private and Semi-Private training sessions available.

And, this is why YOU should come to my private studio to get barre certified:

  • I love sharing the foundational knowledge taught to me. Every new instructor has unlimited potential of change. It’s inspiring, humbling and a privilege to be a part of the journey.
  • Show Charleston (or your town) studio and gym owners that you are qualified to teach with a solid training certification program. I will spend one-on-one time with you ensuring you know proper setup, verbal cues, form and modifications to help teach a safe and fun class.
  • Don’t drive or fly to a large city, pay expensive certification fees and restrict yourself to only teaching at their specific franchise locations. I do not charge licenses to teach Lowcountry Barre. Simply get your certification and teach.
  • Solid training and education is the reason this program works! You’ll learn basic anatomy, injury prevention and care, structure and workout combinations.

For more information on how you can become certified to teach barre, contact me directly or register on the barre certification page. I hope to see you at the barre!
