Private Session
One instructor, one student. Fully tailored — every spring, every cue, every progression chosen for you.
Lowcountry Power Pilates is a boutique studio in Mount Pleasant where Joyce Ganzermiller has taught the classical method for twenty years. Private sessions, small-group apparatus, rehabilitative work — done with the unhurried attention the Pilates name has always asked for.

The six classical principles. Joseph Pilates wrote them in 1934 and they have not asked for revision since. Every class here is built on them — no music-driven fitness, no choreography, no tricks. The work is the work.
After twenty, you see it. After thirty, the body is different. The numbers are Joseph's, not ours — and they hold.
Effort is not the same as exhaustion. The work is precise, demanding, and quiet. You will be tired. You will not be hurt.
Breath is a muscle. We teach you to recruit it the way you recruit any other — with attention, with timing, with intention.
The body is the instrument. The mind is the player. Pilates is the score that asks them to rehearse together.

One instructor, one student. Fully tailored — every spring, every cue, every progression chosen for you.

Small-group flow on the Reformer with mat integration. Three private sessions are required before joining; we want you confident.

The Tower is the studio's most underrated apparatus — strength and stretch, vertical and lengthening. Mat experience required.

A small piece of equipment that demands the entire body. Padded seat, strong springs, total recruitment.

She came to Pilates the way most of her students come to it now — in pain, looking for something that worked. A back injury at twenty-five took her out of hospital administration and put her on a Reformer. The body she rebuilt there became the studio she would teach in.
Six hundred training hours. Five apparatus and a private-session nook — hot Pilates on request. One quiet room with tall windows on Salterbeck Street.
“I had total knee replacement surgery. Through standard PT and over a year of Pilates one to two times a week, the instructors' attention allowed me to recover faster and stronger.”
“I fractured a vertebra — I already had three levels fused since failed spine surgery twenty years ago. They worked through excruciating pain. After several months I was able to remove the brace.”
“I was eighty when I took my first class. Joyce made sure I was oriented thoroughly. Over the months my strength, balance and focus improved.”
“I've been doing Pilates here for twenty months. It's the first time I've enjoyed exercising. Imagine my surprise when I mistakenly put on my husband's jeans this week and they fit.”
“I've taken reformer classes at studios with twelve reformers. The instructors cannot watch twelve people at once. With four reformers in a group class, Lowcountry gives you much more individual attention.”
“Almost a year in and the improvements in my strength and flexibility have been incredible — I honestly don't think I've ever been stronger. Joyce and her team are amazing at tailoring workouts to accommodate injuries.”
“If you are new to Pilates or have experience, you will be met where you are with knowledgeable instructors. The studio is fully equipped and meticulously kept — a place to be inspired to learn and to advance no matter your fitness level.”
“The small, intimate setting with only four clients per session makes every class feel personalized and focused. Twice a week, I've significantly increased my core strength and flexibility.”
